Hank C. Burnette - "I Still Miss Someone" (In Memory of Jennifer Irene)

Hank C. Burnette - I Still Miss Someone (In Memory of Jennifer Irene)
This is undoubtedly one of my own very favourite songs penned by 'The Man In Black', Johnny Cash. I recorded it at my 1997 'infamous' speed-o-matic session (62 tracks laid down in just one month on a simple 6-track Vestax MR-66 cassette recorder!) and I frankly admit I could've done a more versatile job out of it, but it just happened to be a 'quickie', that suddenly sprung to mind, and it only took about 20 minutes to record it, from start to finish, using a Jackson HM electric all the way through! TRIVIA: "I Still Miss Someone" is the title of a song written and originally recorded by American country music legend Johnny Cash. He first recorded it in 1958 as the B-side to "Don't Take Your Guns To Town". Cash wrote "I Still Miss Someone" with his eldest brother, Roy. Cash included the song on his 1963 album, Ring Of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash. Most of Cash's live recordings after the 1960s included "I Still Miss Someone." Cash appeared in Eat the Document, which document! ed Bob Dylan's 1966 world tour, performing "I Still Miss Someone" with Dylan backstage. Cash later recorded the song as a duet with Dylan during sessions for Dylan's album Nashville Skyline in 1969; however, this duet has never been officially released. Four different artists have charted versions of "I Still Miss Someone" on the Billboard charts. Flatt & Scruggs released a version on their album The Versatile Flatt & Scruggs, peaking at #45 in 1965. In 1981, Don King took a version to #38, on his Epic ...

It is a legacy left by our parents and our ancestors that makes us different from others in the world. These sounds, some very serious and some very sharp, have passed from generation to generation by adding or subtracting words according to the needs of each community. But the great responsibility for preserving this rich cultural threatened by the advance of the modern world is in our own hands or even better in our own tongue. Father and mother must transmit the language to the children and linguistics organizations must promote the study of languages. Vancouver and the International Day of Mother Language Fortunately for us, who live in this multilingual city, some steps are being taking toward finding a format that enables us to keep our own language, despite living immersed in the daily use of a wor! ldwide modern language. This road begins to open with the celebration of International Mother Language for the second consecutive year in Vancouver. Along five hours, hundreds of people representing many cultures coming from different parts of the world were mixed in a true expression of customs, colors and sounds so identified each particular ethnic group. The Roundhouse Community Centre in the area of Yale town in Vancouver faithful witnessed a parade of art, music and other cultural expressions by ...
